I’ve always been fascinated by stories that feel like dreams — the kind that mix reality with something mysterious and hard to explain. That’s exactly how I would describe the world of Haruki Murakami.
Murakami is one of Japan’s most famous contemporary writers, known all over the world for his unique style. He writes about loneliness, love, music, time, and the strange ways in which life connects people. What I love most about his books is that they feel calm and deep at the same time — like quiet conversations with your own thoughts.
His stories often include unusual things: talking cats, hidden worlds, people disappearing without reason. Yet somehow, everything feels real. It’s as if Murakami gently reminds us that life itself can be just as strange and magical as his stories.
I’ve read “Kafka on the Shore” and “South of the Border, West of the Sun”, and I honestly loved both. Each book made me stop and think, but also dream a little. Reading Murakami feels like wandering through a soft, endless dream — one you never want to wake up from.

Murakami este unul dintre cei mai cunoscuți scriitori japonezi contemporani, iubit în toată lumea pentru stilul său unic. Scrie despre singurătate, iubire, muzică, timp și legăturile ciudate dintre oameni. Ceea ce îmi place cel mai mult la cărțile lui este liniștea lor — sunt profunde, dar simple, ca o discuție tăcută cu tine însuți.
În poveștile lui apar pisici care vorbesc, lumi ascunse, oameni care dispar fără motiv. Și totuși, totul pare real. Murakami parcă ne amintește că și viața de zi cu zi poate fi la fel de ciudată și magică.
Am citit „Kafka pe malul mării” și „La sud de graniță, la vest de soare”, și mi-au plăcut enorm. Fiecare carte m-a făcut să visez puțin, dar și să mă gândesc mai mult la mine. Citindu-l pe Murakami e ca și cum ai rătăci printr-un vis blând, din care nu vrei să te trezești.
